Brian Balthazard, 26

Brian James Balthazard, a lifelong resident of Tarrytown, died unexpectedly on August 16. He was 26.

Born in North Tarrytown on March 15, 1989, to Brian and Geralyn Balthazard, he graduated from Transfiguration School and Stepinac High School. He earned his bachelor’s degree in accounting from Pace University. He was employed at Ernst and Young in New York City as an accountant.

Mr. Balthazard was an avid sports fan and especially loved cheering for the NY Yankees, NY Giants, NY Knicks, and the NY Rangers. He had been a pitcher on the Stepinac baseball team and in recent years enjoyed being involved in recreation basketball leagues. He was also a fantastic cook who loved preparing meals for family and friends.

In addition to his parents, he is surived by his sisters Kate (AJ) Garcia of Bronxville, Julie (Joseph) Fiore of Tarrytown and Laura Balthazard of Tarrytown, and many other family members.

Joe Flores, 63

Joe Flores, a resident of Irvington, died on August 19. He was 63.

He was born and raised in the Bronx. Mr. Flores served proudly in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He married his love, Valerie Betances, on April 19, 1991 in Irvington. Mr. Flores had a passion for woodworking. He was a member of the White Plains Veterans Center. He was a devoted, loving, kind gentleman who will be greatly missed.

Mr. Flores is survived by his wife, step-son First Sergeant Gerald F. Betances, whom Joe was very proud of, and grandchildren Justin, Dakota and Damion.

Jeanne Stipicevic

Jeanne H. Stipicevic, a resident of Irvington, died peacefully at her home on August 10, with her husband, John by her side.

She was the devoted mother of six children, adoring grandmother of 16 and proud great-grandmother of five. She is survived by her husband and her children Mary (Fred), Jim (Kay), Mike (Silvia), Annie (Scott) and Peter (Bridget). She was predeceased by her eldest son, John (Jean).

Mrs. Stipicevic was a kind and giving soul, whose love of family came before everything. As her children left the family home in Ossining, she found work first in a pediatrician’s office, and later in other medical offices as an office assistant. Her failing health in the last years took its toll, but her faith kept her strong. Forever young at heart, her generous and warm nature will be missed by all who were privileged to know her.

Carmen Crescioni, 85

Carmen G. Crescioni, a longtime resident of Tarrytown, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and loving relative to her extended family, died on July 30. She was 85.

She was born in Villalba, Puerto Rico and worked at Tensolite and Teca Corporations until her retirement. She loved the Tarrytown Senior Center and always looked forward to those meetings. The friends she made at the Senior Center were very special to her. She was also proud of working for the Board of Elections for many years, where she also had many good friends.

She is survived by her two daughters, Nilsa Negron and Carmen Greenstein, her sons-in-law, Manual Negron and Gary Greenstein; grandchildren, Melanie Colon, Ileana Negron, Charles Greenstein and Michael Greenstein, and five great-grandchildren, Iza, Ahmen, Asaru, Khefaara and Alexa, family members Felix Colon and Alex Hilario and her brother, Ernesto Guzman and his family, all of whom were the loves of her life. She was predeceased by her husband, Julio Crescioni.
