Tuesday, October 4, at 7 PM/  Chagall in New York
Hosted on Zoom and led by Art Historian Sylvia Laudien Meo, this virtual presentation will explore the life, legacy, and groundbreaking art of Marc Chagall whose modernist art subjects ranged from life memories and fantasies to the Jewish culture. Thursday, October 6 at 7 PM/ New York Photosongs – At the heart of this exploration are seven original folk songs that tell the amazing true stories behind New York State’s most iconic and obscure photographs. Armed with his guitar, 4×5 foot photographs, and 15 years as a public school educator, John John Brown guides us through this hour long journey. Held on Zoom. Tuesday, October 11, at 7 PMThe Gilded Age Mansions of The Jay Gould Family
 – Hosted on Zoom and led by Historian Gary Lawrance, this virtual presentation will explore the mansions and estates tied to Jay Gould, a railroad magnate from the late 19th century whose unscrupulous business practices made him one of the richest (and most reviled) men in America. This presentation will include an overview of Jay Gould, and his family, and rare archival photographs showcasing the Gould Family properties along with little-known details of the fantastical social life that surrounded them. Register here: https://bit.ly/3SiBkBm.
Thursday, October 13 from 7 to 8 PM/ Cemeteries of Westchester
– Hosted on Zoom and led by Patrick Raftery, Librarian for the Westchester County Historical Society, this 60-minute illustrated slideshow will describe the different types of burial grounds, tombstones, and funeral customs while detailing some of Westchester’s many fascinating “final resting places.” Register here: https://bit.ly/3RYOvYt. This program is a collaboration between Warner Library and Westchester County Historical Society.*** Registration for this program will be handled by the Westchester County Historical Society.
Monday, October 17, at 7 PMTrick or Treat: A History of Halloween Food Traditions – Americans love Halloween, and we’re all familiar with the treat part of trick-or-treating. But candy didn’t always play a central role in Halloween. Saturday, October 15  from 2 to 3 PM/ OHRH – Odell House Rochambeau 
Susan Seal, President of the Friends of Odell House Rochambeau Headquarters, will show some of the treasures found there and talk about the progress being made to restore the house and create a museum.  This in-person event will take place in the Library’s Reading Room.  Free and open to all. Wednesday, October 19 at 7 PM/ Spooky Hudson Valley — Join us, if you dare, for a ghostly tour of New York’s Hudson Valley and learn about its history, legends, and resident spirits with medium and paranormal investigator, Marianna Boncek. Hosted on Zoom.
