A former Town of New Castle official has been hired as the new Assistant Village Administrator in Tarrytown.
Village Administrator Richard Slingerland announced that Lauren Cascone had been selected from several highly qualified individuals to replace Alissa Fasman, who served in the position since Nov. 2021.
Slingerland noted Fasman would be relocating to Connecticut with her family. However, at Monday night’s meeting, the Board of Trustees approved a resolution appointing Fasman as Intermediate Clerk on a part-time availability basis at an hourly rate of $75 for a maximum one-year period.
Cascone served as Assistant Town Administrator and Deputy Clerk in New Castle since 2018. She obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree from SUNY Buffalo and a Master’s degree in Public Administration from Pace University.
Fluent in Spanish, Cascone, who will officially join Tarrytown on April 22, served as liaison to several town committees, including New Castle’s Sustainability Advisory Board. She also served on the Ethics Committee and Affordable Housing Committee in Poughkeepsie, where she lives.
“Ms. Cascone comes to Tarrytown with significant experience in local Westchester government,” Slingerland stated. “The village looks forward to working with Lauren Cascone on the many projects and initiatives currently underway.”
