More About the Program:
The volunteer program supports land stewardship and forest ecology needs at Irvington Woods Park, including invasive plant removal, tree planting, trail maintenance, and urban forest restoration. Volunteers learn best practices in plant identification, removal techniques, planting methods, and safe tool use, while contributing to a healthier forest ecosystem.
Held twice a month on Saturdays, the program provides opportunities for both students and adults to engage in meaningful conservation work and build community connections. For students, participation also fulfills service requirements for programs such as the National Honor Society and fosters leadership development.
Now in its 8th year, the program continues to welcome both new and returning volunteers for another season of growth and impact.
