Thank you for agreeing to set the record straight on the Trump Caravan Rally held this past Sunday, September 13, 2020 as written by Barrett Seaman for your publication. The organizer of the Rally was Mr. Javier Salton, not me as reported in the article. Mr. Salton should be given the credit for organizing this rally and given the time to be interviewed.
As I stated, I never spoke to Mr. Seaman about this event, and I was never interviewed by anyone from the Hudson Independent (nor any other publication), nor did I give permission to use my name. In addition to the above, the figure reporting that only 5% of the participants were from Irvington is false. If my math is correct, that number would put the Irvington participants around 3 people, as approximately 60 people showed up. Mr. Salton can give you the names of the Irvington residents that were there to set that record straight. Apparently, Mayor Smith and School Board Member Hanna’s figures were way off, not surprising. Another item not reported on were the agitators shouting expletives in front of Red Barn and up along Main Street as we drove by. I have passed along a video to Mr. Seaman showing one of the agitators. Thank you for correcting the facts of the article.
Sincerely,
Christopher Arlotta
Irvington resident
