Tools to connect to your work  before you begin to work.
Have you ever had a great writing session

when you felt deeply connected to your work, and wished you could get to that state any time, even when you felt stuck?

The Writer’s Prep is a series of simple exercises based  on The Method acting technique that enable you to connect deeply to your work before you begin to write.

For over a century, actors have known that the way to work truthfully and make great discoveries is to connect to the scene sensorially. That applies to writers, too.

The Writer’s Prep takes The Method’s proven techniques and adapts them for writers of all levels, allowing you to write truthfully in the imaginary world of your work.

Testimonials:

“Writer’s Prep is an inspiring course on how to release your inner voice for the stories you want to tell. I was captivated from the beginning,

and wrote with more freedom than I’ve ever written before.

DeLauné is a great coach, and the camaraderie with the

small group of fellow writers was delightful.”

Jane Alexander author of acclaimed memoir, Wild Things, Wild Places; 4x Academy Award nominee; 2x Emmy Award winner, Tony award winning actor, and National Endowment of the Arts chairman under President Bill Clinton

“Working with DeLauné has been transformative for me.

She has unleashed a bold and unselfconscious voice in my writing.

I walked in feeling timid, but after doing the exercise she taught, I left flying high with a deep connection to the time, space, and experiences for my memoir – a connection that had eluded me before.

I’m not sure how she manages to harness all of this, but she does with joy, kindness and sensitivity. I have felt encouraged, celebrated, and challenged thanks to her workshop. My pen happily flows across the page now. I cannot wait to do another one!” – Sarah W.

This class is unlike any I have taken before. It teaches techniques that have made my writing richer and deeper. Thanks to DeLauné’s exercises, I am engaging more fully with the characters, settings, and scenes of my novel-in-progress.” Dvora R.

“Through the Writer’s Prep tools that DeLauné teaches with creativity, honesty, and wisdom, she provides deep insights that resonate in my writing. Each week presented a new opportunity to refine my craft, enriching my daily writing process. Working with DeLauné, and practicing her tools has been profoundly inspiring.” –Joyce L.
