FIRST MEETING JANUARY 29TH AT 2 PM AT GREENBURGH LIBRARY OR BY ZOOM

TEENS WANTED TO PARTICIPATE

The Hartsdale Greenburgh Rotary will partner with Bridging Dots, and the Department of Community Resources (DCR) at the Theodore D. Young Community Center (TDYCC), to combat food insecurity in Westchester by forming a Town of Greenburgh (TOG) Teen Task Force, organizing local youth for ongoing civic engagement.

The first meeting on the Teen Task Force will take place on Saturday, January 29 @ 2:00, in the multipurpose room at the Greenburgh Library (this will be a combined in-person/Zoom meeting), as we begin working on an initial fundraising project to raise money for local organizations battling food insecurity in Westchester County.

Bridging Dots is a group of high-school age volunteers who created the ‘Caring Cupboard’ food pantries to address food insecurity during the Covid-19 pandemic.  DCR/TDYCC has a nearly 55-year history of civic engagement and mentoring youth in this age group.  This collaborative effort will increase the involvement of our young people in community and civil service, to prepare them for leadership roles and careers in local government.

As a part of Rotary International, the Hartsdale Greenburgh Rotary is a service organization for the town, the region, the county and the wider world.  As a part of Rotary International, the Club’s world-wide mission is to promote peace through understanding and friendship.

To find out more about the Teen Task Force and how you and/or your organization can become involved, please visit www.rotary.org, or call Joe Gardner, 201-220-4076.
