Don we now our brightest baubles

Fa la la la lah la la la lah

(You get the point)

They say you can see the lights emanating from the Luxor Hotel in Las Vegas from the space station. But has NASA taken a look lately at the December light coming out of Dobbs Ferry, Hastings or Ardsley?

Probably not—since we live in the shadow of New York City, aglow 24/7 year-round. But from ground level, some of the homes in our rivertown villages seem this year to have reached new heights of luminosity. Every year, it seems, the decorations get more and more elaborate.

Not every house in our villages is decorated to kill. Some have no lights, or maybe some candles in the windows. Others are low key, tasteful—which isn’t to say the brighter displays aren’t. Better said, perhaps that they are…attention-grabbing.

Recognize this house?

We all know a great Yuletide light show when we see it, and in that spirit, The Hudson Independent invites you to visit our Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/TheHudsonIndependent) where, if inclined, you can post a comment on submissions by others.  Should you have a contender of your own, please send a photo as an email attachment to editor@thehudsonindependent.com by December 24. Write “Indy Lights” own the subject line, and be sure to include the street name and village.

The more, the merrier.
