This Weekend

Eliane Elias

Friday & Saturday • February 11-12 @ 7 & 9:30 PM

A little taste of what we might expect this weekend. Listen here!

A world-class virtuoso pianist whose mastery of jazz, Brazilian, classical, show tunes and more has brought multiple awards from the Grammys, Downbeat polls and elsewhere, Eliane Elias has astonished American listeners since arriving from Brazil in 1981.

Her seductive voice and powerful playing has graced nearly every jazz format imaginable — solo, duets, small band and orchestral work, distinguishing her throughout. An Elaine Elias concert leaves even the most experienced jazz fan breathless with wonder.

Jazziz magazine has called her “a citizen of the world” and “an artist beyond category.”

The last time I presented Eliane Elias was for George Wein’s JVC/NY Jazz Festival at Jazz at Lincoln Center, June 2007 with Kenny Barron, Marc Johnson, Satoshi Takeishi and Freddie Bryant – recorded for NPR. It will be such a treat to welcome Eliane, Marc and drummer Tiago Michelin to our Jazz Forum, Tarrytown this weekend. Don’t Miss It!
