Designed to “bring some light and joy into our community this fall,” participating Irvington locations (including storefronts and eateries) are inviting children to submit original art works that illustrate “positive, inclusive, diverse, and welcoming themes.”
The initiative was created by an informal community group including Michael Hanna, Catherine Sun, Jacob Styburski, Douglas McClure, Arlene Burgos, and Beth Ryan. The group encourages Village locations to participate, community members to help coordinate, and children to contribute their art.
Participants are invited to share their photos in front of “Irvington is Everyone” installations by posting to Instagram or Facebook with hashtag #portraitsofirvington (or email Michael Hanna at: mhanna@proteanfilms.com).
The Hudson Independent will be posting daily student works featured in the Portraits of Irvington project.
