Gloria Esteves, a lifelong resident of Sleepy Hollow, passed away on April 19, 2023. She was the daughter of Serafim Esteves Alem and Teresa Lecuona. She was born on the 16th of April 1944. She is survived by her brother Richard Esteves, nephews David Esteves, Matthew Esteves, Richard Esteves, niece Sarah Galus, and devoted cousin Elaine Taylor. Gloria also leaves behind five grand nephews and a niece, whom she adored.
An accomplished and very educated woman of her era, she pursued two master’s degrees in education and Spanish. Gloria went on to teach Spanish at Suffern High School for 35 years, and maintained lifelong relationships with many of her students. Gloria loved to travel the world and was an active volunteer at Christ Church.
Visitation will be held Saturday April 29, 2023, from 10 am – 12 pm. Interment to follow at Sleepy Hollow Cemetery. A live stream and archive will be available at:
