Danna Steele Kozelek, age 92, from Tarrytown, New York passed away peacefully on April 6th, 2023. She was born on March 3, 1931 in Kenmore, New York to her parents Vernon & Mary Lou Steele.
Danna graduated from Syracuse University, a member of Chi Omega sorority. She married her college sweetheart in 1954, Frank Kozelek who predeceased his wife on December 13th, 2020. They eventually settled in Tarrytown, New York, where Danna, in addition to her professional career was an active member of the community serving on several local organizations, including the town’s Welcome Wagon committee as well as being active in local Protestant parish. Danna & Frank both loved gardening, traveling, Broadway shows, reading and spending time at Sacandaga Lake with their family and friends.
Frank Fred Kozelek, Jr was born January 22nd, 1931 in Schenectady, New York to Frank and Emily Kozelek. He passed away peacefully at the age of 89. He graduated from Syracuse University with a degree in Fine Arts and then onto Officer’s Candidate School in Newport, Rhode Island. He served in the Navy as a Lieutenant aboard the USS Coral Sea. Besides being an excellent piano player, Frank loved modern architecture and contemporary design, Broadway shows and all things Stephen Sondheim.
Danna and Frank are survived by their three children: Tracy (and wife Krista Passon), Dean (and wife Connie Kozelek, and children Lily and Nicholas Kozelek) and Bradley (and wife Susan Natale-Kozelek). They both will be deeply missed by family, friends and all who knew them.
A private memorial service was held on Monday, April 6th for immediate family members for both Danna and husband Frank at Sleepy Hollow Cemetery in Tarrytown, New York where they were laid at rest together.
