Tarrytown Music Hall, 13 Main St., Tarrytown, NY.
The theater is handicap-accessible.
Performed in French with English supertitles above the stage to further enhance the entire experience, the production will be fully staged with professional lead singers and orchestra. Maestro Jun Nakabayashi looks forward to providing the downbeat.
The opera tells the story of the downfall of Don José, a naïve officer, who is seduced by the fiery Carmen. José abandons his childhood sweetheart and becomes a criminal, yet loses Carmen’s love to the famous Escamillo. The opera created a scandal when first performed because of its immorality, lawlessness, and violence. It is well known for its arias “Habanera,” “Seguidilla,” and the famous “Toreador song”, and its overall vibrant and unforgettable orchestration.
Tickets are ONLY available from the Tarrytown Music Hall and can be purchased online, by phone or at the door. A wide range of prices are available ($81 – $20) depending on seating, with a discount for seniors ($7) and a fixed price for students for all seats ($20). BEWARE OF SCAM TICKET VENDORS
