SUMMERARTS WORKSHOPS FOR KIDS 2019
The SummerArts program offers a series of multi–disciplinary workshops for children entering grades 3-9 who have a keen interest in the arts.
PROJECTS AND ACTIVITIES INCLUDE:
- 3D Construction
- Fiber Arts
- Music & Movement
A TYPICAL DAY:
Children participate in four one-hour workshops a day led by an artist(s) with expertise in the particular discipline. Workshops for older children are more intensive and provide an opportunity for more sophisticated exploration and execution.
On August 30th, the last day of camp, family and friends are invited to visit to see the work and creative exploration accomplished.
Participation in the full four-week program is encouraged.
PROGRAM DIRECTOR EMILY GOSWEILER
Emily Gosweiler is a working artist with a BFA from SUNY Purchase primarily focusing on painting and sculpture. She is the executive director and founder of Creative Hearts art program, located in Dobbs Ferry. Over the last 15 years, Emily has worked in over a dozen art programs and camps including the Katonah Art Center, Young Artists at Purchase College and Young At Art. She is passionate about the uplifting and transformative power of an arts education.
ENROLLMENT: Approximately 40 children per week, working in 4 Groups. Groups are accompanied by a counselor.
AGES: Kids entering grades 3-9
DATES: August 5 – 30, 2019
TIME: 9:00 – 3:00 Monday – Friday
FOOD: Bring lunch. Snacks are provided. If your child has allergies, please notify the director and consider sending snacks for your child.
