My work reflects the natural world and its relationship with what is man-made. Each can appear vivid and real, yet also evolve into something new or different based on context and perception — often blurring (even blending) the parameters between reality and imagination.
I am particularly drawn to the changes in perception that occur by seeing images (and life) through incidental “lenses” such as clouds, water, shadows, windows, bridges, doors, and time. Photography has been an intuitive medium for me throughout my life although I have never utilized photographic filters or enhancements. Rather, for good or for bad, I am intrigued by how the world we see presents its own filters (especially when natural and man-made images intertwine).
Many of my recent photographs have been taken in and around Irvington, New York, where I have lived for the last 20 years, and where the Hudson River tells continuous stories.
