About Savvy Sips
After spending most of her working career on the wholesale side of the wine industry, Rachel Tieger transformed a long-standing wine/liquor store, to fulfill her dream of opening a small boutique wine shop, one year ago. Tieger is a dedicated environmental activist in her home village of Tarrytown, and brings her values to life at Savvy Sips. The shelves are filled with smaller production wines and spirits, with a focus on organic, biodynamic, certified sustainable and other earth-friendly practices.
Tieger aspires to find the right wine for each customer, by asking about the specific occasion and food to be served with the wine. Her website states she aims to be your “personal sommelier.”
The shop is open Tuesday through Saturday 11am-8pm, Sundays 12-6pm, and closed Mondays with special hours on holidays. There are regularly scheduled weekends tastings, and many items are available to try upon request.
