Sleepy Hollow Football Club (SHFC) opened its second year in September with expansion as the club registered three additional teams in the Westchester Youth Soccer League and our community’s two new artificial turf fields opened for wider use.
At the close of the fall season, the club was shocked by its own success when seven out of 13 teams won their divisions. Two of these championship teams, the U11 Boys Legends and U13 Girls Mustangs, were also selected to represent AYSO Tarrytown/Sleepy Hollow at the 2016 AYSO National Games in Palm Beach, Florida in July. In addition, two teams placed first in their division at the Somers Fall Classic Tournament and two others placed second.
“Sleepy Hollow Football Club takes pride in providing high quality club soccer at the lowest price in the area,” said SHFC President Matt Evans. “The success of our teams this season shows the talent of our young local players and the dedication of our volunteer coaches. We want to thank each and every one of our AYSO and SHFC volunteers as well as our affiliate, Rivertowns United.”
SHFC teams will continue working over the winter and will return to the pitch in mid-April for the spring season. Tryouts for the 2016-2017 season will also take place in spring. SHFC offers community-focused club soccer for players in the U9-U14 age groups.
