SH Students Excel at Science and Engineering Fair

Emily Thayer, a senior at SH High School, is headed to the INTEL International Science and Engineering Fair in Phoenix in May after placing first for her scientific research project at the Westchester Science and Engineering Fair held at the high school.

Thayer, who will be studying chemical engineering at the University of Alabama in the fall, was recognized for her project, “Limiting Nerve Sprouting using Anti-Growth Factor Receptor Antibodies to Reduce Pain in Bone Cancer and Osteoarthritis.”

Other Sleepy Hollow students who took home prizes among the 500 who took part in the fair on March 12 were: Katie Miles, Dominique Marchini,Griffin Gebler, Catarina Ribeiro, Caroline Murphy, Sofia Guarnieri, and Sophia Norwood.
