Julia “Judy” Dolan, 81

Julia “Judy” M. Dolan, a longtime Irvington resident who lived her last 18 month at Kendal-on-Hudson in Sleepy Hollow, died February 9 after a long illness. She was 81.

A former nurse in the 1950s at a residential treatment facility for children with rheumatic fever on the grounds where the Abbott House now sits, Mrs. Dolan and her late husband, Dr. Mario Dolan, established a medical practice on Main Street in Irvington now occupied by the Irvington Historical Society.

A lifelong Democrat, Mrs. Dolan was active behind the scenes in village politics and was a big supporter of building a public pool. She also served numerous volunteer roles in her 50 years as a parishioner at the Church of the Immaculate Conception in Irvington.  more »
