National Basketball Association Hall of Fame Center Bob Lanier made a special appearance June 24 at the student Awards Assembly at Abbott House in Irvington. The 6’11 Lanier, who played with the Detroit Pistons and Milwaukee Bucks during his stellar 14-year season, spoke to the students about having a positive attitude and taking pride in what they do. “Believe in yourself and believe that you can accomplish anything in your life regardless of your background,” Lanier said. “You don’t have a chance for success in life without an education.”
