Ruth Beckett: 106-year-old Tarrytown native

Ruth Beckett, lifelong resident of Tarrytown, died May 31. She was 106.

She is survived by two nieces and many great- nieces and nephews. Donations in her memory may be made to The Neighborhood House 43 Wildey Street Tarrytown, N.Y. 10591.

Jerome Pfeffer: Tarrytown resident

Jerome B. Pfeffer, a resident of Tarrytown died June 5. He was 83. Born January 12, 1926 in Brooklyn, he served proudly in the U.S. Army during World War II. He had been sales manager for ABB in New Jersey until his retirement.

Elizabeth McGuinnis: Tarrytown resident

Elizabeth R. (Betty) McGuinnis, a longtime Tarrytown resident, died June 3. She was 98.

She was a parishioner of Transfiguration Church, where she belonged to the Transfiguration Altar Guild and Women’s Club, the Transfiguration Seniors and the Ladies of Charity and Westchester Con. Ed. Retirees. Donations may be made to Rosary Hill Home in Hawthorne.

Margaret C. Barrett

Margaret C. Barrett, long time Tarrytown resident, passed away on June 12, 2009 at the age of 93. Margaret was born April 1, 1916 in Summit, N.Y. to John and Margaret Cummings. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Edward. She is survived by her son Harry. Margaret was a member of the Ladies of Charity for twenty-five years.All services were held privately.

Elizabeth Mary Becker: Tarrytown resident

Elizabeth Mary Becker, long-time resident of Tarrytown, passed away June 16, 2009 at the age of 87.Elizabeth was born in Waddington, N.Y. December 15, 1921 to Alvin and Mildred Prashaw. She was predeceased by her husband Richard.Surviving are her children Richard (Linda) and Janice (Howard). Her beloved granddaughter Tamilyn is a graduate of The Air Force Academy and is currently a Captain in the Air Force. Also surviving are Elizabeth’s brother Alvin Prashaw and sisters Edith MacDonald and Lorraine Blair and many nieces and nephews.
