“Cake for Change” – Fundraising Event for Community Voices Heard Power @ Irvington Presbyterian Church
May 7 @ 3:00 pm – 5:30 pm

For the second year in a row, Irvington is hosting the “Cake for Change” fundraising event, a memorable gathering of bakers, Irvington neighbors of all ages, and supporters and members of Community Voices Heard. This year, the Irvington Presbyterian Church has generously donated space for the event, which features dozens of cakes baked by residents, judges (including celebrity chef Marco Canora, co-owner of New York City’s Hearth restaurant and author  of “Salt to Taste”) who rate the cakes and confer awards to the top three, and an opportunity to learn more about Community Voices Heard, the organization for which the event raises money. And best of all, all the cakes are available for sampling and judging by event participants!
All donations from the event provide support to Community Voices Heard Power, the political arm of Community Voices Heard, an organization that seeks to build capacity and develop leadership within low-income communities in order to make New York State a model of democratic participation that promotes progressive policies and programs that will improve the lives of poor and working class families across the state. Community Voices Heard has a number of organizers active in lower Hudson Valley communities.
